1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LexHaven (lexhaven.ng), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use this platform. LexHaven reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Nature of the Platform

LexHaven is a property discovery platform that connects prospective tenants with Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)-accredited lawyers who list properties on behalf of landlords. LexHaven is not a real estate agency and does not act as an agent for any party. We do not negotiate, collect rent, or execute tenancy agreements. All direct transactions occur between the renter and the listing lawyer.

3. Eligibility

Use of this platform is open to any individual aged 18 or older. By using LexHaven, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into agreements. Only lawyers with a verifiable NBA accreditation number are permitted to list properties on the platform.

4. Lawyer Verification

Lawyers who list properties on LexHaven must:

Provide a valid Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) membership number

Be in good standing with the NBA at the time of listing

List only properties they are duly authorised to manage

Ensure that all property information provided is accurate and up to date

LexHaven verifies lawyer credentials before activating any listing. However, LexHaven does not guarantee the accuracy of property descriptions, availability, or the conduct of individual lawyers.

5. Property Listings

All property listings on LexHaven are provided for informational purposes. LexHaven does not verify the physical condition of properties, the title status of any property, or the landlord-client relationship between the listing lawyer and the property owner. Prospective tenants are advised to conduct their own due diligence, including physical inspections, before committing to any rental agreement.

6. No Agency Fee Representation

LexHaven promotes a no-agency-fee model; however, individual lawyers may charge legitimate legal fees for services such as drafting tenancy agreements and conducting title searches. These are legal professional fees, not agent commissions. Any such fees must be clearly disclosed by the listing lawyer before any agreement is signed.

7. Bookmarking Feature

The bookmark feature on LexHaven stores property IDs in your browser's localStorage. This is a convenience feature only. Bookmarking a property does not constitute a reservation, offer, or any form of agreement with the platform, the listing lawyer, or the landlord.

8. Prohibited Conduct

Users of LexHaven must not:

Impersonate an NBA lawyer or provide false accreditation information

List properties they are not authorised to represent

Post fraudulent, misleading, or inaccurate property information

Use the platform for any unlawful purpose under Nigerian law

Attempt to scrape, copy, or commercially exploit platform data without written consent

Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or LexHaven staff via any platform channel

9. Intellectual Property

All content on LexHaven, including but not limited to the LexHaven name, logo, design, text, and software, is the exclusive property of LexHaven and is protected by applicable Nigerian and international intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on the platform without prior written consent.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LexHaven shall not be liable for:

Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform

Any loss resulting from transactions entered into with listing lawyers or landlords

The accuracy, completeness, or legality of property listings

Any unauthorised access to or alteration of your data

LexHaven's total liability for any claim arising out of your use of the platform shall not exceed ₦50,000.

11. Third-Party Services

LexHaven provides links to third-party services including WhatsApp and email clients for direct contact with lawyers. Use of these services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. LexHaven is not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of any third-party service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rivers State, Nigeria.
