**Account information (lawyers only):** When a lawyer registers to list a property, we collect their full name, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) accreditation number, email address, phone number, and law firm details.

**Locally stored preferences:** For property visitors and renters, we use your browser's localStorage to save bookmarked properties. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

**Voluntary communications:** If you contact us via email, phone, or WhatsApp, we retain those communications for service purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

Operate, maintain, and improve the LexHaven platform

Verify the NBA accreditation status of lawyers who list properties

Respond to enquiries and provide customer support

Monitor usage patterns to improve user experience

4. Property Visitors & Renters

LexHaven is designed as a public browsing platform. Renters and property visitors do not need to create an account or provide personal information to browse listings or save bookmarks. Bookmarks are stored entirely in your browser's localStorage and are never sent to our servers. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser data.

5. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may disclose information:

To comply with a legal obligation or court order under Nigerian law

To protect the rights, property, or safety of LexHaven, our users, or the public

To accredited third-party services that assist in operating our platform (e.g., hosting, analytics), under strict confidentiality agreements

6. Data Retention

We retain lawyer account data for as long as the account is active or as required by law. Communication records are retained for up to 12 months. Automatically collected analytics data is anonymised after 90 days.

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

LexHaven does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has submitted personal information, we will delete it promptly.
